The Tree Board met with a quorum of five and approved its agenda and its May 20 minutes, both by 5-0 votes. Its one discussion item, a recommended plant list for the Unified Development Ordinance, got no vote: members compared existing lists from Orange County, Audubon and the City of Raleigh, and Chair Tim Logue and Brian Mayell agreed to combine them into one list. The board carried the item to its August meeting.

In updates, Logue reported that Invasive Species Removal Team workdays are tapering off for the summer after volunteers cut knotweed, and he plans to email the town's utilities staff about the timing of mowing along rights-of-way this summer and fall. Staff said bark scale treatment is done and an interpretive sign has been ordered, and outlined a fall pruning workshop the board informally agreed to hold at Murray Street Park, with Parks and Recreation board members invited. The board also heard a Garden Club newsletter update and word that the Garden Club may help show a caterpillar film July 18 at the Chapel Hill Public Library, plus a staff note on the town's Community Services Department reorganization.
