Board of Commissioners Regular
Town of Pittsboro ·
1. Board of Commissioners (BOC)
Monday, November 9, 2026 at 6:00 pm
What's on this agenda
Commissioners take up allegations that Commissioner Bonitz broke the town's Code of Ethics and Conduct. The recommended sequence is to excuse him from voting on the matter, decide whether a violation occurred after reviewing the notice and his response, and only then consider any corrective or disciplinary action. The supporting document is filed under Mayor Shipp's name. A closed session later in the meeting covers a lawsuit brought by Goodwin Land Holdings and Congruus against the town, and a grievance.
The board is also asked to pick an exterior design for the new town hall and approve its building program and schedule, and to approve section design plans for Chatham Park's South Village, which the Planning Board backed with conditions. A revised master stormwater agreement for Chatham Park is up too. The consent agenda carries an annexation petition from Pittsboro Baptist Church, a budget amendment for design, asbestos removal and demolition at 205 JA Farrell Street, and a new recreation position. There are no public hearings.
